Monty the Dog needs a home
Please note: This dog is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and you must be willing to travel there to meet him.
Meet Monty. Just about the best looking miniature poodle you'll ever meet. Well, he thinks so anyway! Monty is a little cautious at first but does adapt quickly to new situations, people and dogs quite quickly. He's gaining more confidence every day and we're so proud of his achievements. He's house broken, rides very well in the car and is playful. Dogs, whether one on one or in a group, are his friends, though he can sometimes be a little pushy or over excitied, he's easy to distract.
Monty eats well, likes to learn new things, walks well on a leash but does prefer to walk on leash if there is another dog with him. You see, he can get a little anxious when on leash so another dog calms him while he learns. If he is uncertain about something new he will either sit near you looking for support or, if really concerned, he'll asked to be picked up. We don't encourage that though, and every day he's learning to be a brave boy!
Monty should go to a home with a family who is knowledgeable and willing to work with him. He's smart, and in the wrong hands, he could go back to his fearful ways. Working with a qualified, positive trainer, is required. Monty is fast and energetic, willing and compliant. Perhaps he's the dog you should take to agility classes! How fun
